As an established Visual Artist of more than 30 years, Dawn Lim’s creative practice encompasses spinning, weaving and garment-making, abstract painting and drawing. After putting aside her explorations in weaving and spinning for quite a few years to complete her Bachelor of Fine Arts and focus on painting, Dawn has recently reignited her textile practice, crafting unique, one-off garments from her self-made materials.

Abstract work continues to be an important mode of expression for Dawn, and her paintings, rendered mindfully through colour and texture, capture both the spontaneity of her mark-making and a self-reflective quality.

Her commitment to living her life peacefully and in harmony with nature is communicated through the spiritual dimension of her work.

After a time living in Moonambel, Dawn recently relocated to nearby Avoca where she is enjoying unleashing her broad creative talents within her large studio gallery.
