Although technically not a tiny town, Maryborough serves as a central hub to a number of tiny satellite towns across the Central Goldfields Shire and is home to the Central Goldfields Art Gallery, a public gallery with roots that run deep into the local community.

There are many established and emerging artists living within Maryborough region and visitors to the town can view and purchase many local art and artisan products through the Visitor Information Centre (VIC) at the beautiful historically Maryborough Railway station.

The Central Goldfields Shire Council’s strategic vision for the region includes a focus on art and culture, with planned upgrades to the art gallery, as well as artist in residence studios, which will be included in a shared working space at the Maryborough Railway station.
